2 term USVI Governor Albert A. Bryan Jr expected to endorse VIP

2 term USVI Governor Albert A. Bryan Jr expected to endorse VIP

In a bombshell and courageous move, United States Virgin Islands (USVI) two-term current Governor, Mr Albert A. Bryan Jr., will this evening Saturday, March 18, 2023, endorse both Hon Kye M. Rymer and the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) for re-election under Premier, Dr the Hon Natalio D. Whatley.

Sources in the USVI who are close to the popular Governor have told our news centre on condition of autonomy, that Governor Bryan is expected to be in the Virgin Islands (VI) Tortola today and will make the endorsement at the launching of the VIP Fifth District Candidate Hon Kye M. Rymer.

The USVI Governor has roots in Tortola including family in Carrot Bay on the western end of Tortola. Many historians have said under VIP Governments, the relationship between the VI and the USVI depends and becomes closer.

Premier and Minister of Finance Dr the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) along with the former Premier Andrew A. Fahie have fostered closer ties with the USVI and have revised the VI/USVI Friendship day after it was suspended by the National Democratic Party (NDP) following the Hurricanes of 2017.

Both countries have also worked out water rights and boating agreements.

Hon Rymer 2023 campaign will be launched this evening at 7:00 PM at the Boys Service Station Parking Lot in Humtums Guth, Tortola.

Divisive politics from NDP

In 2019 then leader of the NDP, Myron V. Wawyn ran a divisive campaign against our closest neighbours in the USVI trying to pit us against each other claiming they were “eating our lunch”.

Recent tourism statistics show that he was wrong, especially in the marine sector. It is believed that not only the USVI enjoys when VIP-led Governments are in power, but the same is true for Governments of the OECS and the Caribbean Community.

Hon Rymer 2023 campaign will be launched this evening at 7:00 PM at the Boys Service Station Parking Lot in Humtums Guth, Tortola.
