3 recorded active COVID-19 cases currently in VI

The Virgin Islands (VI) currently has 3 recorded active cases of COVID-19 as of today, June 10, 2021, according to the latest update from Minister for Health and Social Development, Hon Carvin Malone (AL).

Hon Carvin Malone said the public health team continues to monitor all the cases and the person will remain in mandatory quarantine until they are deemed fully recovered.

According to Hon Malone, one of the cases was discovered on day 7 screening and the other two cases are close contacts of the case.

All cases are on the island of Tortola.

The Minister said that to date, some 52,480 tests were conducted on individuals swabbed throughout the territory and tested at the Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital.

To date, the Virgin Islands has captured 295 COVID-19 cases, with 291 recoveries and one death.
