The missing man has been identified as Dennis Yuki Enomoto, 75, of Canada.
Mr Enomoto was amongst a group of persons snorkeling near Cooper Island.
According to the RVIPF, he was last seen while the group was in the water, but when the others returned to the boat, Mr Enomoto had not returned.
A search of the boat, surrounding waters, nearby vessels and on Cooper Island itself turned up nothing.
The RVIPF Marine Unit and VISAR expanded searches to include the Sir Francis Drake Channel and many shorelines but, to date, he has not been found.
According to a press release from the RVIPF today, November 2, 2021, the active search concluded on Sunday, October 31, 2021; however, the RVIPF Marine Unit will continue to be vigilant while on patrols and is also asking all mariners to keep an eye out while on the water in an effort to locate the missing snorkeler.
The RVIPF also said the man’s family has since been informed and is being kept updated by the RVIPF.
