As 2022 ends, VI almost 100% back to pre-pandemic life– Hon Rymer

Deputy Premier and Minister of Communications, Works and Utilities, Hon Kye M. Rymer (R5) has expressed gratitude that the Virgin Islands (VI) is well on its way to pre-pandemic life following the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic in the territory.
The Minister in his 2022 holiday message, reminded that while the year was not an easy one, he remains grateful to be alive and to celebrate yet another holiday season and to share greetings on behalf of his wife, children, and neighbors of the 5th District.

“Earlier this year the territory was adjusting to normalcy on the heels of the COVID-19 pandemic. Today we can say, praise be to God, we are almost 100% back to our pre-pandemic life,” Hon Rymer added.

“I take this time to remember loved ones we've lost this year. Losing a loved one is never easy and there will always be remembered by the people they impacted during their lifetime. This year, my message is centered around giving thanks, you will all agree that we have so much to be thankful for,” he said.

Hon Rymer added that he remains thankful for much and including giving thanks to god for blessing him with the opportunity to serve the VI, “I'm grateful for the undying support of my family, as their support has provided me a pillar of strength to persevere through these unprecedented times."

Message of thanks

"I'm especially grateful to my neighbors for trusting me to bring the 5th district alive. I also take this opportunity to express sincere gratitude to the Permanent Secretary and staff of the Ministry of Communications and Works for their hard work and dedication to improving the territories infrastructure,” he said.

The Deputy Premier noted that during the season, as the VI remembers persons who are still struggling, persons must lend a helping hand to someone.

“Let us visit and pray for our sick and shut-in and less fortunate families at this time,” he said while promising to pay usual visits throughout the local districts to spread Christmas cheers as is customary.
