Book of condolences opened for late Queen Elizabeth II

A book of condolence has been opened in the Old Government House Museum for Her Late Majesty The Queen, where Members of the public in the Territory can sign the book.

Governor John J. Rankin CMG also indicated that a Condolence book will be available online at the www.royal.uk website in addition to the one at the Old Government House Museum.

The book is currently open today, Saturday, September 10, 2022, and in the new week, it will open each day from Monday, September 12, 2022, from 10:00hrs until 3:00hr until the funeral of The Queen.

For persons on the Sister Islands, a condolence book will be available and more information on its availability can be received from the District Officer.

Yesterday, Friday, September 9, 2022, there was also the firing of a 21-gun salute in honor of Her Late Majesty The Queen.

Queen Elizabeth II, the UK's longest-serving monarch, died at Balmoral Castle at the age of 96, after reigning for 70 years.

All flags on Government buildings and service establishments in the VI are currently being flown at half-masted from now until 8:00 a.m. on the day after Her Majesty’s funeral on Monday, September 19, 2022.
