BVI SDA School records 91.98% pass rate for CSEC 2022

BVI SDA School records 91.98% pass rate for CSEC 2022

Living up to its motto: 'We Persevere for Excellence', the faith-based learning institution, the BVI Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) School- Secondary Division, has recorded a 91.98% pass rate at the 2022 Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) Examination, according to the school's principal, Mr Wade W. Tobin.

Mr Tobin, speaking briefly to Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) today, September 6, 2022, said the school will be analysing the results by tonight, September 6, 2022, for deeper insights into the school's performance, given the administration was taken up with orientation today.

While Mr Tobin lauded the success for 2022, he hinted the pass rate did not come as a surprise since the school has always been receiving high pass rates, ranging over 88% and above, in previous years.

When questioned on what attributed to the success of the private institution, Mr Tobin said: “I think the hard work and commitment of the teachers and the dedication of the students, as well as the parents. Everyone worked together to have a structured programme in place to ensure the students did very well.

“The integration of faith, God, and learning, that’s what made the difference,” he told VINO.

The BVI Seventh-day Adventist School has a reputation for producing some of the Territory's top students.

CXC given importance

Principal Tobin also said the institution, located in Sea Cows Bay, pushes CXC as important and would analyse how the institution competes not just locally, but regionally.

Meanwhile, VINO reached out to Principal of the Elmore School High School (ESHS) Ms Vanessa K. Garraway for information on the school’s performance; however, no response was received up to publication time.

As it relates to the VI’s overall CSEC statistics, Chief Education Officer, Ms Connie E. George has indicated that a statement will be prepared and released to the public as soon as the results are ratified.

CSEC results were officially released by the Barbados -based Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) last evening, Monday, September 5, 2022.

While Principal of the BVI Seventh-day Adventist School Mr Wade W. Tobin lauded the success for 2022, he hinted that the pass rate did not come as a surprise since the school has always been receiving high pass rates, ranging over 88% and above, in previous years.
