Education Minister Hon de Castro grateful for corporate support to schools

Reflective of a healthy public-private partnership, Minister for Education, Culture, Youth Affairs and Sports Hon Sharie B. de Castro (AL) has expressed gratitude for strong support recently received by two schools from corporate entities.

Deloitte BVI came in for high praise from the Minister after adopting Willard Wheatley Primary School located in East End.

Showers of gratitude were also rained upon Maples BVI for once again coming to the aid of Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS).

Maples BVI donated a large number of musical instruments to the ESHS Music Programme.

Maples BVI has also against made a donation to the ESHS Music Programme. It has in the past donated musical instruments and made financial contributions to the programme, via the Virgin Islands Recovery and Development Agency (RDA).



Deloitte’s contribution helps VI education to move full S.T.E.A.M. ahead- Hon de Castro

The ceremony for the adoption of Willard Wheatley Primary School by Deloitte was done today, March 16, 2023.

“Thank you Deloitte for adopting the Willard Wheatley Primary School! We are elated to have you on board as a partner for progress in education! Your financial contribution and partnership will significantly assist W.W.P.S. as we move VI Education full STEAM ahead,” Hon de Castro later stated on her Facebook page.

Deloitte BVI stated on its Facebook page that it was excited to share that it has joined the Adopt-A-School Programme developed by the Ministry of Education.

“Our selected school is the Willard Wheatley Primary School located in East End. As an adoptive firm, we look forward to supporting the school with improving their infrastructure, learning resources, as well as assisting with mentoring, tutoring and other forms of volunteering.”

Deloitte BVI has a history of giving back to the community.

Maples BVI makes another donation!

Meanwhile, Maples has also again donated to the ESHS Music Programme. It has in the past donated musical instruments and made financial contributions to the programme, via the Virgin Islands Recovery and Development Agency (RDA).

According to Hon de Castro, the A in S.T.E.A.M. - ARTS - is integral to the advancement of education in the Virgin Islands.

“On behalf of the Ministry of Education, I express sincere gratitude to Maples BVI for their steadfast commitment and continued investment in the Elmore Stoutt High School Music Programme through a welcomed donation of 15 flutes, 15 clarinets, 15 trumpets, 7 alto saxophones, 3 tenor saxophones, 5 trombones and 2 electric guitars. The legacy of this amazing programme will play on!“ Hon deCastro exclaimed.
