One VI agenda has place for everyone including Skelton-Cline – Hon Malone

At Large Candidate under the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) Hon Carvin Malone has assured talk show host Claude O. Skelton-Cline that in the One VIrign Islands (VI) agenda being pursued by the VIP has a place for everyone, including those who severed ties with the party.

Hon Malone was at the time speaking as a guest on the April 18, 2023, edition of the Honestly Speaking show on ZBVI 780 AM.

“At the end of the day we all want a better Virgin Islands and I think that you'll come right home, and I have no doubt about that. We will be able to have you in the fold and because in the Virgin Islands that we're building, this one VI agenda, you'll be part of that programme,” Hon Malone added

He said moving forward, his government will look at bringing all the various factions in the Virgin Islands together since everyone is needed to make the VI a better place.

In 2019, Mr Skelton-Cline was a strong Virgin Islands Party (VIP) supporter and appeared on their campaign platforms and pushed the VIP as the government for the VI.

Mr Skelton-Cline has said in the current geopolitical season of the VI, he is no longer identifying as a member of the Virgin Islands Party (VIP).

Meanwhile, Hon Malone said to see the House of Assembly being dissolved only to have legislators return to get some issues validated, it was important for House to do so.

'Fast Track' belongers can now move on - Hon Malone

Meanwhile, Hon Malone said to see the House of Assembly being dissolved only to have legislators return to get some issues validated was an important and necessary one.

“And we did it, we did it knowing that we were right in the first place, we followed that advice and I think that it is proper that folks who followed the law, needed their status, got this status and now they can now move on,” he said.

On the advice of Governor John J. Rankin, CMG, in consultation with Premier Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7), the 4th House of Assembly (HOA) was on April 17, 2023, recalled to validate the status of 688 persons who were granted simultaneous Belongership and Residency Certificates under the Government’s 'Fast Track Programme', when they should have had a certificate of residency for at least 12 months.
