VG makes Forbes Magazine top places to visit in 2023

The Sister Island of Virgin Gorda in the [British] Virgin Islands has been chosen by the prestigious Forbes Magazine, as the destination that holds the eighth spot on the list of top destinations to visit in 2023.

Virgin Gorda is the only Caribbean Island to make the prestigious list and the island was featured in an article entitled “Here They Are: The 23 Best Places To Travel In 2023”, where Forbes described Virgin Gorda as “a destination of clear calm waters that offers first-class snorkelling”.

“Virgin Gorda is among the Caribbean’s best-kept secrets, with clear, calm waters and first-class snorkelling. The best way to explore has always been by boat, but with the reopening of the fully renovated Rosewood Little Dix Bay, staying on land is just as magical,” the publication noted.

The island is a sought-after vacation spot for couples, families, snorkelers, and beach bums where visitors are intrigued by The Baths with its huge boulders and pristine turquoise water.

Local Tourism Director Clive McCoy said Virgin Gorda gaining the eighth spot as the top destination in the world, and the only Caribbean destination of mention, is an accolade.

List created by top travel advisors

The list was created based on recommendations by top travel advisors and this comes after Travel and Leisure’s article published an article entitled, “How Virgin Gorda is Making a Comeback After 2 Devastating Hurricanes – What’s New on the Island”

The article featured Rosewood Little Dix Bay, Saba Rock, and Bitter End Yacht Club. The three resorts have been described as the “blueprint for hospitality” that epitomizes a new era of tourism.

Local Tourism Director Clive McCoy stated, “Virgin Gorda gaining the eighth spot as the top destination in the world, and the only Caribbean destination of mention, is an accolade, we are genuinely proud of. This reflects the hard work of our industry partners, stakeholders, and the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board and Film Commission (BVITB&FC).”

Mr McCoy remains optimistic about the future of travel to destination VI and He highlighted that there are several upcoming press and familiarization trips where the press, influences, and other advisors will be offered immersive experiences of what VI has to offer.
